The AHUA has launched a coaching programme for newly appointed AHUA members. If you are new to the role of Registrar (or equivalent post) you can claim four sessions of executive coaching which will be paid for by the Association. The offer is also being extended, for a trial period only in 2010, to more experienced AHUA members.
Coaching presents an invaluable opportunity to explore work performance and develop awareness of those skills and behaviours which you may wish to progress further. It also offers appropriate targeted support to help you effectively manage the transition to your new role. We would strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity which is made available within the first 12 months of your appointment.
This article by Tess Brooks gives further information about what coaching is and the difference between coaching and mentoring.
Contact Catherine Webb in the AHUA office if you interested in pursuing this further.
