AHUA Expert Exchange: From Board Packs to Board Insight: How AI Could Strengthen HE Governance
Register here

This workshop is AHUA member representatives and nominated alternates.
This 1-hour webinar explores how artificial intelligence is beginning to change the way HE boards, executive and governance teams prepare, present and interrogate information and how it can support the work on secretariats. We will share the results of a survey which looks at the AI tools being used, for what and what value they are bringing. It will then lead into a discussion exploring how AI will change HE governance.
Your feedback will help shape this session. Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey.
By the end of the session, participants should be able to:
- understand why AI is becoming relevant to boards and governance professionals now
- understand which AI tools are currently being used and the potential benefits
- explore how AI could help reduce board pack length, improve clarity and increase accessibility
- consider how AI might support directors to interrogate information and ask sharper questions
- recognise the key risks, limitations and governance issues associated with the use of AI in board processes
- reflect on how governance support may evolve over time with the use of AI
The session will be led by Susie Hills and Osaro Otobo from Huron. The Halpin team at Huron have conducted more than 60 governance reviews across the UK HE sector and are well known for their commitment to leading edge governance practice.
