A personal message from Mike Shore-Nye, AHUA and the University of Exeter
Dear AHUA member,
I’m writing to all my fellow AHUA members to invite you to join me at the University of Exeter where I’m very excited to be hosting the AHUA Spring Conference on April 20th and 21st 2026.
There has been lots of talk about transformation and change in and around the sector over the last year. There are some real questions in my mind about what it is that makes a change programme truly transformational and whether the sector has the right leadership capabilities to deliver transformation in an increasingly complex environment. The rate of political, technological, economic and social change means the skills and abilities to drive real change and transformation now are very different to what they were when I started my career. I want the AHUA conference to help us all think about how our roles and leadership requirements are changing and do all of that with excellent, warm, Exeter hospitality.
The teams at Exeter and AHUA have been working to curate an agenda that brings together high-profile and thought-provoking speakers from sector bodies, associations, business leaders and more but blends them with members voices and experiences, case studies from Exeter and beyond about what registrars, secretaries and COOs are doing to thrive in a challenging context. We want this to be a highlight in your agenda for 2026 and a fantastic investment of your time and the strength of our AHUA network. I can’t wait to see you all.
Best wishes,
Mike Shore-Nye
Senior Vice President, Registrar and Secretary, University of Exeter.
