These consultation forums are for AHUA members representatives only and are suitable for Registrars, Secretaries, Chief Operating Officers (and comparable roles).
Earlier in 2025 the Committee of University Chairs announced a review of the Higher Education Governance Code. The review aims to reflect the changing context for universities and, with an steering group that encompasses a range of stakeholders including policymakers and regulators to identify best practice, known issues and barriers, will look to utilise the expertise across institutions to update the Code to be a rigorous and adaptable governance framework fit for the future of the sector. The CUC also commissioned PwC to support the delivery of the review. The CUC review outline is available here.
For some time the review has been listening to a range of voices and their experiences and perspectives of governance. The group are now keen to host conversations with the executive level governance administrators amongst the AHUA membership to ensure their voices can influence the work on this key project. The session is hosted by PwC and members of CUC.
These online sessions and the discussions within them will be in addition to the call for evidence that is being published this month and an important chance for AHUA members to work with CUC to inform the work of the review. The sessions will offer you your opportunity to talk about the practicalities of supporting, developing and administering good governance now and the potential for the future.
The consultation group are keen to hear from anyone with perspectives from across the UK including all the devolved nations.
